The Ipswich Cultural Council is a Local Cultural Council (LCC) and part of municipal government with the members of the Council appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The funds for the grants are an allocation of public dollars from the state through the MCC (Massachusetts Cultural Council) provided by the Governor and State Legislature. The council also does some additional fundraising to benefit the grant allocations.
Applications are currently available to download from massculturalcouncil.org .Search under Applications & Forms and then under Local Cultural Council to find application forms for both Standard grant application and Field Trip applications (PASS program)
The 30th Annual Art Show and Sale are September 23rd, 24th, and 25th, 2016.
Applications for Artists to submit their works can be found at Zenobia and at the Ipswich Public Library.
Registration forms are online also online through our Ipswich Cultural Council Facebook page.
The deadline for submission is Tuesday September 13th, 2016.
The Illumination is Saturday September 24th, 2016 with a rain date of Sunday September 25th.
This year we are reinventing Illuminations along the river with respect to the drought conditions we are experiencing. The Fire Chief has wisely requested no open flames and alternative plans are in the works. Kerrie Bates of the Culture and Recreation Department has devised a plan to illuminate the river in a safe and celebratory way.
