Welcome to the Ipswich Fire / Rescue website. The Ipswich Fire / Rescue Department is a combination Fire Department, consisting of 18 full time staff and 19 on-call firefighters. We are a full service department, providing public education, fire safety inspections, emergency medical services at the Basic Life Support level, fire suppression, hazardous material control, and marine rescue. Headquarters, located at 55 Central Street is staffed 24/7 by full time personnel, while the Linebrook station located at 330 Linebrook Road is unstaffed, but does serve as a base of operations for the Advanced Life Support ambulance contracted to Action Ambulance. Action also houses a second Advanced Life Support unit just south of the downtown area.
In addition to the above, we also offer child / infant car seat inspections and courtesy home safety inspections, in addition to our mandated inspections. We want you to be safe at home and at work and ask you to periodically check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, in addition to having and practicing your home escape plan.
In all that we do, we will attempt to meet your highest expectations of customer service. If we do not meet or exceed your standard, please feel free to contact me directly at 978-356-6627 or Email. Compliments are gratefully accepted also.
Please continue to keep Ipswich a Heartsafe Community by taking or maintaining a CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. You’ll never know when you might be confronted to perform this lifesaving intervention.
For your own personal safety, we ask that you make sure to have your house or business street address number prominently displayed so that it is visible at night from the street and from approaching emergency vehicles.
While the Central Street fire station is staffed 24/7, we would ask you to conduct any routine business with us from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please know we are here to help you in any way possible.
