About the Council
The Ipswich Cultural Council is one of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCC) in the state of Massachusetts. Councils operate under the umbrella of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and are funded by the state. Each council consists of municipally appointed volunteers who disseminate grants to arts and humanities projects, individuals and organizations according to MCC guidelines. “The LCC program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation. It enriches the cultural life of all cities and towns in Massachusetts through grant funding, information and organizational support to artists and arts organizations.” Funding for each town is based on population.
