The Cycle Safe Task Force was appointed by the Ipswich Select Board in the Fall of 2020 and will provide recommendations back to the Select Board. To reach the members of the Cycle Safe Task Force, please email cycle@ipswichma.gov or Ethan Parsons, Director of Planning & Development, at ethanp@ipswichma.gov or 978-356-6607 X1.
Purpose of the Cycle Safe Task Force: To provide community leaders and Ipswich residents with a variety of safety imperatives and business initiatives, both near and long term, to make Ipswich a safer, more practical, and economically attractive place for residents and visitors to cycle. Information provided by the Task Force will allow managers and residents to better appreciate community needs, identify a range of opportunities, envision various planning scenarios, and make thoughtful and effective decisions.

2019 Statewide Bicycle Transportation Plan - Learn about how and why the State is working to increase the percentage of everyday trips made by bicycling, and eliminate bicyclist fatalities and serious injuries at the same time. Every day, Bay State residents and visitors choose to use a bicycle for daily trips, whether for getting to work or school, running errands, or reaching transit stops and stations. Many more people would bicycle for short daily trips if only there were safer, more comfortable, and better-connected routes they could use.
2019 Municipal Resource Guide for Bikeability - As part of the Bike Plan, MassDOT developed the Resource Guide in recognition of the important role the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts will play. Created for municipal staff, elected officials, community members, and anyone interested in biking, the Resource Guide introduces core concepts to enhance community bikeability and directs readers to additional resources for more detailed information.
