In 2023, we are challenging ourselves to reduce our electric consumption by making energy efficient changes to our systems, and our habits. We are asking that the community join us in this challenge to reduce our town's overall usage in 2023!

SCHEDULE AN ENERGY AUDIT WITH A HOME ENERGY AUDITOR
Your free audit evaluates insulation and air sealing, heating and cooling systems, appliances, water usage, solar PV potential. Once the audit is complete, our experts will provide you with an action plan to help you prioritize energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and waste management improvements in your home. All advice and recommendations are impartial, and you are not obligated to follow up on any of them.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
- The Massachusetts-based non-profit the Center for EcoTechnology provides your no-cost, obligation-free audit.
- Audits take approximately 2 hours and include a follow-up, comprehensive assessment of your home and systems.
- Audits identify cost-effective opportunities to reduce your carbon footprint.
- Receive free savings measures such as LED light bulbs, faucet aerators, low-flow shower heads, and WiFi thermostats.
- Free air source heat pump consultations for interested customers.
- Receive your free, customized report within one week including estimated savings, along with information on utility, state and federal rebates and local discounts.
ACCESS INCENTIVES AND REBATES:
Once you have completed your project, apply for your ReSource Ipswich rebates, and look for additional incentives by visiting the ReSource Incentives Page.
Action Inc.,offers low and moderate income families no-cost energy upgrades! If you are receiving Fuel Assistance, or the National Grid Discount Rate, you could be eligible for additional energy services through Action Inc.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FUEL ASSISTANCE:
Eligibility Requirements include, but are not limited to the following Income guideline. To qualify for Energy Services programs, your annual household income may not exceed 60% of the mean income of same-size households in MA, and you must reside in one of the following cities/towns: Gloucester, Essex, Ipswich, Hamilton, Manchester, Rockport, or Wenham, MA. Please call 978-281- 3900 to learn if you are eligible.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Full assessment of energy use and heat loss.
- Audits take approximately 2 hours
YOUR BUILDING PERFORMANCE SPECIALIST MAY ARRANGE FOR:
- New blown-in cellulose insulation
- Weather stripping around windows and doors
- Air sealing to reduce heat loss
- Light bulb replacement with new LED bulbs.
- Replacement of inefficient appliances such as refrigerators, freezers and washing machines.
- Replacement of inefficient window air conditioners
- Dehumidifiers

No-Cost Tips for Saving Energy At Home
Consider the following ideas to reduce your home energy consumption:
- Turn down your thermostat in the winter - even a degree or two can make a big impact on your bill
- Turn off the lights every time you leave a room
- Put holiday lights and blow-up decorations on timers
- Clean or replace filters for furnaces and AC units once a month or as recommended by the manufacturer
- Turn up the thermostat in the summer - each degree increase can save about 10% in energy use
- Switch the direction of your ceiling fan for optimal air flow. It should rotate clockwise in the summer and counterclockwise in the winter
- Keep phone chargers, gaming consoles and other occasional-use electronics unplugged when not in use
- Hang clothes to air dry
- Only wash a full load in the dishwasher
- Use cold water in your washer
- Defrost frozen meats and meals in the refrigerator to help it keep cold
- Fully defrost frozen meats and meals to avoid any unnecessary overuse of cooking elements
- Avoid over-filling your freezer and refrigerator, appliances need to have space to circulate air to run efficiently.
- Don't keep freezers empty, frozen items help to keep the temperature cold, and the freezer to run less.
