This project involves replacement of the existing 6 and 8-inch cast iron water mains with a new 12-inch ductile iron water main. The work area extends from the intersection of East and Newmarch Streets to Eagle Hill. The work will be completed during the day and all planned interruptions in water service will be temporary and announced in advance.
When the water main replacement is complete, Jeffreys Neck Road will be repaved, curb to curb, from East Street to Island Park Road. The portion of the trench from Island Park Road to Eagle Hill Road will be paved with permanent trench paving, as that portion of the road is anticipated to be elevated and repaved in the future.
The Water Department would like to apologize for the inconvenience this project has caused to area travelers and residents and thank you for your continued patience as we make these important improvements to the water system.
