ON leash dogs are allowed on Pavilion Beach from Labor Day to Memorial Day (season ending 5/28/17 at midnight). Please be advised any owner/keeper/handler of any number of dogs caught on the beach off leash will be subject to Violations in accordance with Ipswich Town Bylaws.
If you are walking a dog or dogs on or off leash on the beach you may be stopped by Animal Control and asked to show means of feces removal (i.e. a bag or pooper scooper), proof of town dog licensing, and proof of current rabies vaccination.
Failure to show any of the above will result in violations under Town Bylaws.
PLEASE keep your dog(s) on leash and pick up after them, we have protected birds as well as marine life which are impacted by these issues. PLEASE also remember not all humans enjoy dogs, and some are afraid of dogs, no person should be harassed or intimidated by ANY dog---even if fluffy is friendly. Lastly we have quite a few Service Dogs in Town, off leash dogs can pose a huge threat to their ability to safely do their jobs.
As always we WELCOME any animal which falls under the ADA definition of Service Animal, these animals are welcome on the beach year round on or off leash in a working capacity.
