On Monday, October 3rd, transportation planners from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) will be visiting downtown businesses to learn about their parking needs and how they and their customers use the Hammatt Street Parking Lot. MAPC, Ipswich's regional planning agency, is assisting the Town with our efforts to improve the use, appearance and functionality of the Hammatt Street Lot, at no cost to the Town.
Besides gathering data about how the Hammatt Street Lot is currently utilized, MAPC will work with the Town and other owners of the Hammatt Street Lot on a coordinated improvement, management and maintenance plan aimed at increasing its overall number of spaces and enhancing its effectiveness and desirability for motorists visiting the downtown.
