[ARCHIVED] REMINDER: Dog Licensing Period is Upon Us!


Per Town of Ipswich By-Law Chapter 15 Section 5: Animal Control. All dogs over the age of six months MUST be licensed annually between January 1 and March 31 with the town.

Cost:

Altered (neutered/spayed): $15.00 per dog

Intact: $20.00 per dog

Payable:

By cash or check payable to "Town of Ipswich"

How?

-Each resident will receive a licensing form with their town census

-You can register your dog at the Town Clerks Office

-You can go online and print a registration form from the Town Clerks Website

-Once you have your form filled out, gather your rabies certificate, proof of spay/neuter if applicable, your method of payment and either mail it to the Town Clerks Office, OR, head on down to Town Hall and see the Town Clerk!

What if you no longer own your pet, or have moved?

-Call the Animal Control Office at 978-356-6652, let us know, we will remove you from our list! --- you can also e-mail us at animalcontrol@ipswichpolice.org with your Name, Address, pets name, and reason for removal.


If your dog was registered in 2016 and you fail to register in 2017...

-We will call the number you provided us with in 2016--these calls will be received BEFORE the deadline of March 31st,  reminding you to license your dog(s).

-Should your dog not be registered by March 31st, you will be subject to a charge of $10.00 per month or part thereof for each month the dog remains unregistered.

-Violations for unlicensed dogs will be sent out in May. 


If you have never registered your dog...

It is both Town and State Law that each dog MUST be registered once six months of age. Should you be found in violation you will receive a $50.00 violation for each offense, you then must register your dog and you may be subject to late charges as stated above.
