In September the Town Moderator, Tom Murphy, will host a one-on-one interview with Town Counsel, George Hall, in which they will discuss various aspects of Town Meeting in Ipswich. The purpose of this educational segment, to be broadcast on ICAM in the weeks leading up to the November 7 Special Town Meeting, is to inform the registered voters in Ipswich – the members of the meeting – of the purpose of Town Meeting and how it functions. The Moderator expects to cover a variety of topics; everything from how the Selectmen prepare the warrant, the hearings and other preparations leading up to the meeting, and the process that the Moderator follows when presiding over the meeting.
