On October 16, 2018, construction of the Downtown Riverwalk Extension will commence. The project, which will feature a walking path, pocket parks, and landscaping, will extend the existing Riverwalk at EBSCO along the river to the Farley Brook Outfall.
To secure the site and provide sufficient area for construction workers and their equipment, the contractor will utilize a 15 foot wide strip of the adjacent EBSCO parking lot, displacing nine employee parking spaces. To replace these spaces, the Town will restrict parking on a portion of Union Street (opposite the parking garage, along EBSCO's office building on the street), between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, to vehicles with EBSCO employee stickers only. The spaces will remain available for public use during all other weekday hours, as well as on weekends.
The temporary parking restrictions will begin at 6 am on the 16th and remain in place until the end of this year’s construction season, which is typically around December 1st (could be slightly sooner or later depending upon weather conditions.
